Should I tell them the truth?

The safest way to consistent super hosting superpowers is as simple as that:
tell them the truth!

All starts with a gruesome fact: most guests that kill your superhost status do it unintentionally. They give you the dreaded 4 stars, thinking that they are being nice to you.

Some hosts that I know tell their guests this simple truth:

I am a five star host. so:

  • if you had a great stay I’ll love you forever if you rate me 5 stars!
  • if you had an Ok or bad stay, do give me a low rating. It is just fair!
  • if you had a good stay, and you don’t want to hurt me, please don’t give any review. Any review below 5 stars will simply hurt me.

Are you an ASA (Airbnb Superhosting Addiction) victim?

Once you are nominated Airbnb superhost your personality undergoes worrisome changes:

  • you look at your next guests suspiciously: are they humans, or nightmarish monsters ready to hit you with a 4 stars rating for a their perfect stay?
  • you know which is the most vicious lie: an enthusiastically written review, marked with the bloody four stars rating.
  • you become victim of any extravagant request by any of your guest. Something like:
    • How am I going to be able to organize that balloon nigh flight over the Colosseum that her children said they’d really enjoy?
    • Will they kill me with a four star review if I don’t?
    • Are they the kind of family that would be happy to balloon flight over Rome, thank you, smile to you, kiss you, hug you, while stabbing you with a 4 star review in your back?
